They started on the shop floor.
They ran machines. They supervised shifts. They solved production problems at 2 a.m. They understood scrap rates, throughput, safety risks, and team morale because they lived it.
But transitioning from shop floor roles into management isn’t automatic.
Being a great machinist, fabricator, welder, or line supervisor does not automatically prepare you to become a production manager or plant leader.
